Morelos benched by GvB, "promising talent" starts in 6 changes: Predicted Rangers XI - opinion

Glasgow Rangers return to Scottish Premiership action today as Livingston are the visitors to Ibrox in what is another crucial league tie for the club.

The Light Blues head into the tie following a tense and nervy 1-0 victory over Dundee in the League Cup which should have been a procession yet turned into a stuttering performance and the club edged over the finish line to secure a place in the semi-finals.

Giovanni van Bronckhorst could ring six changes for this afternoon’s match against Livingston and here’s what we predict what the starting XI will be at Ibrox.

Allan McGregor will take over from Jon McLaughlin in the Rangers goal, despite the fact “he didn’t let anyone down” with his performance against Dundee in midweek, according to journalist Jonny McFarlane.

Adam Devine will replace James Tavernier at right back, with Leon King and Ben Davies continuing their partnership at the heart of the defence. Ridvan Yilmaz, described as a “promising talent” by writer Zach Lowy, will keep his place at left back following an encouraging performance against Dundee.

John Lundstram will be partnered with 20-year-old Charlie McCann in the Rangers engine room, with Ryan Jack injured and Steven Davis unlikely to start following his exertions in midweek, it’s the youngster who gets called upon.

Scott Wright will again start after a bright performance on Wednesday, this time on the right wing, with Rabbi Matondo coming in for a clearly uninterested Ryan Kent on the left. Scott Arfield will replace Malik Tillman in the number 10 role just playing off the striker.

Alfredo Morelos will be benched in favour of Antonio Colak, who has 13 goals in 17 appearances in all competitions this season and he will be looking to add a few more against Livingston.

This is a much-changed line-up that will give the team some freshness while not taking away the quality required to secure all three points.
